Make sure you complete the Mid-Term Practice Exam this weekend. Use the solutions I gave you to help you solve the problems. If I were you guys, I'd put together a study group. Barnes and Noble anyone?......

Hi, can anyone please scan me their midterm practice exam and leave a link here? Thanks!

Anyone who wants to do a study group, how about Sunday afternoon?

Hey, Sarah. ^-^

Where were you today? I'll do my best to scan you a copy--I don't have access to my scanner at the moment. Do you have an e-mail address I can send it to instead? Because there are two sheets of paper--the problems and the solutions.

So there would be four pages to scan and four pages to upload onto my server and create links for; I really don't have the room to host any more images into I clear out my old data.

Well, about the study group. Actually a few of us are meeting at Jessica's house tomorrow morning at eleven. I think Nick and I are going for sure--Keenan probably, as well as Peuandro. [Peuandro, show up so I can give you those books! XDDD] I'm not sure who else will.

I'd post Jessica's address up, but I don't know if she wants me to distribute that online. XD Who knows what evil lurks on a Geometry blog...for seriously.

Jessica! Give people the time and place so they can come, toooo.

Sincerely,
--Mary.

If you haven't noticed yet, on the mid term, #7 says, find the sum of the numbers from 80 to 700, but the answer sheet says from 80 to 100. So, just a warning and also, I got 242,110 so if anyone can verify if that's right or if they got something different post it please.

I also found another mistake with #12. The answer sheet says the equation is 4x+5, but when the work is shown to arrive at the solution, the equation says 4x+4. So, I think that the actual answer is 265...hopefully I'm not making unjust accusations.

Once again, I am reporting another mistake.

For #39, to find the values of the angles first you needed to add up all the equation and then set them equal to 180 to get:

12x+11=180
Then you subtract 11 to both sides and get:

12x=169. However, Ms.Chan's equation says 12x=179, which is incorrect. Once again, if anyone can post what they got for this problem, and what they got for #12, that would be helpful. I got:
A=59.4
B=85.6
C=35.2

Of course the answers are estimations so they aren't really equal to thos numbers.

I think I'm becoming annoying reporting these flaws.I've got another one.

For #56, to find the value of x, you can divide equation CD by 2 or multiplty BE by 2. Afterwards you set them equal to each other. So you should get one of the following:

7x+10=20x+3
or
7/2x+5=10x+3/2

After you perform all of the necessary steps to find x, the final answer should be 7/13. However, the answer key says 13/7. So once again can someone verify if I'm correct or not.Thank you.

I found yet another mistake, British: On #13, she doubles her table of values to be able to factor them, but does not divide her final answer by 2. So the answer to #13 should be 39,060- not 78,120.

Oh, and Elisa gave me a midterm thingy. Thanks!

I feel so special that everyone noticed I was gone... I felt really crappy that morning and ended up going into school later.

Anyone know what she means by "joker" on the test??

Gah.

Very late comment. I'm so sorry, Sarah. X__x;; *hughug* What Ms. Chan means by "Joker" is that she thinks those questions are so ridiculously easy to have put on the practice, that it would be a shame on us and forever mar the honor of our family if we got it wrong on the midterm. XD

By the way, British and Sarah. Nick, Jessica, Peuandro [Pedro], and I noticed the same things all afternoon yesterday. We were in the living room without internet access, so we weren't able to post our findings.

I have to go check the paper again to find the other mistakes.

At first we thought Ms. Chan might have been in a rush and got them wrong, but then Nick cleverly pointed out she might have done it on purpose so we could make some arguments on Monday. XD

...Or Ms. Chan could have done that to make sure we actually did the questions and not just copy them off her solutions sheet. XD BAAAH.

Be back in a few! *reviews paper*

Sincerely,
--Mary.

Okie dokies.

Here is what our [newly dubbed Brother-Sister-B.I.L.-S.I.L.] group noticed yesterday.

Number Seven:

Hmm. British, while we agree that number seven is wrong, we didn't get the same final answer. We're going to find the sum from 80 to 700: n(n+1)/2.

700 (700+1) / 2= 245, 350.

79 (79+1) / 2= 3160.

245, 350 - 3160 = 242, 190.

-Number Twelve.
-Number Thirteen.

Number Thirty-Nine:

British, I've got the same whole numbers as you, but my decimals are a little off. What did you get for your x?

-Number Fifty-Six.

And, I have to double-check my solutions for all those circle-related problems to make sure I got them right. XDD

Be back in a jiffy.

Sincerely,
--Mary.
